I just heard a scientist say. God is in the neurons. – Well, duh, The Mystery is in everything, separation is not possible. Thats why I get a kick watching people looking for a connection with God, look in books, most religions, the sky and many other desperate places. . Man has never created a spec of matter from nothing. We just take elements and process change, but are not of ourselves, we are of The Mystery. Separation is involved with almost all problems if not all. Please take a better look at what youve been given, look closer in the mirror. Like the song, Love the one your with, your with you and God. Theres no possible separation, the answer is NOT out there. Its within. Jesus, Buddha, Lou Tzou, Nanda, Mohamed, Abraham, all ancient wisdom of all, say BE Fuckin STILL and KNOW…….I AM. The first Namaste to all beings was from God her self, when it said to Moses next to the cozy burning bush. I AM that I AM. Get it? If thats Gods name? How often do we use Gods name referring to ourselves, I AM this, I AM that, I AM hungry for truth!!! Namafuckinste ~rg Lord have mercy. Ive been assigned a mountain to move as an example for others. ~rg

A Guided Recovery Meditation Live

January 11, 2013

I AM that* I AM.

I AM that* I AM.

I AM that* I AM. As looking out from behind all eyes is the source (of everything). Separation is an illusion. The only time in any sacred texts of all cultures that god identified its self by a name was in the Torah. When Moses was at the burning bush, being sent to free the Jews and when Moses said “What should I tell them your name is”? God said “I AM THAT I AM”. Its God saying Namaste. A message to all that within we are all of the mystery of god in every cell of our being. So if thats true, that I AM is Gods name. Do we not use it constantly referring to self. I AM…….. Also, though many think that the Buddhas belief was departure from the Vedic belief of Atman. Doesn’t the I AM show there is no self (Buddha), if its really all god and all one (Atman). Separation is an illusion. ~r

Recovery from false self.

Recovery from false self underlies all recovery. Depression & anxiety mostly stem from holding on to old programming of beliefs, ideals & man made understandings.
These are the attachments that the Buddha was talking about when he said have Emptiness.
When we make such space we find the real us, with no definition, only of god.

Codependency

PattyPowers SoberCoach in NYC Posted on FB:

Yesterday, a therapist said “You know the saying – if you scratch an addict, you’ll find co-dependence underneath.” I’m curious what your thoughts are on this.

Ricky Gelb’s reply:
Ive worked with Pia Melody & Melody Beatie who tend to be known as the authors & therapist trainers on this topic and have heard this from most book trained therapists. But I feel they offer little as a solution. If the concept of Lack of power (pg 45 in AA Big Book) is true, than simply having knowledge of such info of being codependent offers little to a solution. Because we do not have the power to change it out of self will. They suggest, building a relationship with the power is the solution. In addition, thinking is the greatest form of powerlessness as we have short term thinking and change our minds (AA BB pg 24) eludes to, we can not stay “changed” from memory regardless of how bad or recent an event is. With that being said, I have found that when you scratch the Co-dependence underneath we find a lack of self-love/worth. Without self love, we can not experience true intimacy with, God, others & self. We will need love like a child rather than sharing great mutual whole love. We will be trying to fill the lack of self worth with other-esteem. I was an extreme codependent, I basically suffered from identity theft from childhood, was programed to have a false constitution that dictated every part of me, and to kill such pain I turned to heroin addiction. Today due to an experiential of a form of meditation, I have a new concept of self. I love the creation that I AM. I see the Namaste within, The God within me, the amazing creation I had not brought into view before, I see how I AM a creation of the evolution from the horizon of the big bang to this moment, which is oneness. The attachments to outward, others, and drugs became not needed anymore, so they could not continue to attach to me. They were gone, I was awakened, recovered after decades of struggle & suffering. I did nothing but get really still and consciousness took over and I was free. Soon you will be able to share and take others through this method I call Meditaining as soon as I finnish www.meditaining.com I actually believe that all addictions including Co-dependence come from trying to relieve the discomfort of living not authentic to being. As God and the universe created me to be not the man made self. Now as Jesus said, I can be in the world but not of the world or as the Buddha said I can have form but emptiness to the attachments.

Gratitude pushes out negative thinking, especially resentments & fear. Say only prayers of gratitude through out the day. If we are grateful, we are connecting to God, a power greater then self.

Start to view life not as a given that we easily take things for granted but as a gift. Start to count the endless blessing we are given and be mindful of gratitude for them. Such as: eye sight, your lungs, waking up, your hands, for food, for a beautiful sunset, for the car starting, for sobriety, for your heart that is beating, for friendship and love, for clothes to wear, for a bed to sleep in, for family, for creativity and imagination, for a shower and water, for feelings, for every experience and blessing in the gift of life and say a prayer of gratitude. A simple prayer: Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Prayer of Gratitude by Duane Jackson:

All mighty God, Hear this my prayer. I come to you on bended knee to thank you for the gift of life…..and all daily blessings. Especially for my sobriety and return to sanity and reason. And from this time and place forward, I will carry your message of hope, recovery, love & gratitude to other spiritually sick and suffering people. May I do thy will always. So be it.

Meditation & Relaxation

AA and the 12 steps emphasize the importance of meditation but give no direction on how to do so.

AA BB says the problem is centered in our thinking; the root of the problem is self-centeredness (pg 62 AA BB). The dilemma of why we cannot change (page 45 1rst full paragraph) is A Lack OF Power. The Solution is connecting to Power. The steps are designed to strip away the stuff of self that blocks us from the Power.

This is a must, as we cannot stay sober by memory (pg 24 AA BB in italics). The greatest form of powerlessness is our own thinking. Because; we have short-term thinking and change our minds. What we feel very strong about today will be out of mind down the road. This is why despite our good intentions; we cannot stay sober on our will power alone. We must build a relationship with a power greater than our selves.  Meditation is a way of going beyond self and connecting with God.

Be still and know I AM God – The Bible

Beyond self-powered thinking is consciousness and awareness.  Step 11 is about improving our conscious contact with God. Meditation is how to do that.

This form of meditation can take you beyond self-powered busy brained thinking and you will experience the stillness within. It will relax you in profound ways so you can be in the moment, not the busy brain of the future and past. Fears are about the future, resentments are about the past. Meditation is not based on our power to work, it will relax us and let us experience being in the moment, in the now.  It allows intuitive thoughts, inspiration and direction from a higher power to flow in.

Silent Mantra Meditation

The root words of mantra are: Man – think, intent or mind.  Tra means – protection from or freedom of bondage from. So together the root of using a mantra means: protect from our thinking or freedom from our minds.

Meditation can relax us and take away all anxiety if practiced regularly.

It is my opinion the number one reason for relapse is anxiety and busy brained thinking. At some point we cant take it anymore and reach for relief in our drug or drink of choice.  Then the phenomenon of the obsession of mind and the physical craving begin all over again. If we are truly relaxed and have no anxiety by meditating, we never get to a point of needing relief, we are happy & peaceful.

  1. Sit comfortably in a chair with eyes closed for 30 seconds.
  2. Say Ahhm – I –  Ahhmm silently in your head for 20 minutes. Do not worry about thinking or controlling anything. Just keep returning back to the silent mantra. Its ok to think and you will. You will have thinking then mantra, thinking then mantra. You may not think it is working for about 10 minutes but just keep returning to gently saying the mantra silently in your head. At some point you will notice the relaxation coming into the body, your arms will feel heavy but your mind will still be aware. Usually at about 15 minutes in we will start to feel a great sense of stillness, this is the state of transcendence.
  3. After the 20 minutes of repeating the mantra silently in your head. Stop the mantra and just sit for 2 more minutes with your eyes still closed.
  4. Do this 2 times a day for the 22.5 minutes and you will begin to notice a transformation in your daily life in many ways. It becomes self-revealing.
  5. It is best to do it on a empty stomach before breakfast and dinner. Do it 8 hours apart. From each 20 minutes of meditation, the body will get 8 hours of what’s known as restful awareness.
