I just heard a scientist say. God is in the neurons. – Well, duh, The Mystery is in everything, separation is not possible. Thats why I get a kick watching people looking for a connection with God, look in books, most religions, the sky and many other desperate places. . Man has never created a spec of matter from nothing. We just take elements and process change, but are not of ourselves, we are of The Mystery. Separation is involved with almost all problems if not all. Please take a better look at what youve been given, look closer in the mirror. Like the song, Love the one your with, your with you and God. Theres no possible separation, the answer is NOT out there. Its within. Jesus, Buddha, Lou Tzou, Nanda, Mohamed, Abraham, all ancient wisdom of all, say BE Fuckin STILL and KNOW…….I AM. The first Namaste to all beings was from God her self, when it said to Moses next to the cozy burning bush. I AM that I AM. Get it? If thats Gods name? How often do we use Gods name referring to ourselves, I AM this, I AM that, I AM hungry for truth!!! Namafuckinste ~rg Lord have mercy. Ive been assigned a mountain to move as an example for others. ~rg

A Guided Recovery Meditation Live

October 18, 2013

Who is your Author?

Joseph  Perry is the best person I’ve ever met.  He’s the happiest, most joyful man, he can not get through a sentence without a smile or a laugh. Even if your a stranger, the likelihood is if you are sitting within reach of him, he will be holding your hand to show love without any fear of doing so. At 85 years old, vegetarian and he has 50 years of sobriety, that is what I consider success and I point it out to my children. Spending an hour around this mans love has done for me more than thirty days in rehab. He is more than a father, friend and teacher to me, there is something that we share, that is in us both and I thank the mystery for this experience. Because all I know is real, is love. ~rg

click play and listen to an incredibly beautifully guided spiritual Recovery Meditation, recently recorded and as you listen, check out his soulful movements when he does these free spontaneous guided meditations, they just flow through him.

Look around.

frankie

Look around and see all the open space. In the rooms you may be sitting or the vastness outside; and ponder: What ever created me must really love me, as I can not begin to count all the available breathes to be had. We are always better off then we think. ~rg

They Should teach unlearning.

They should teach unlearning classes in college. As discomfort comes from not experiencing or living authentic to being. If we lack what we are wired to experience and stuff what is not authentic to being, it adds up to a blind programmed uncomfortable experience. So we look for relief in sex, chemicals, relationships, money, food, and image to quell the anxiety & depression stemming from the discomfort of false being. Everybody is at a different state of subjective consciousness (awareness) and ignorance, its the human condition. By defining god, we just take the infinite and eternal out of the equation as infinite and eternal has no beginning and no end, its not measurable. A definition of god, actually only creates separation with god, if you believe that god is not in every cell and particle of the whole universe including humans. If every cell and particle is not of god, then where did it come from, what is it of? God ether is or isnt. This is repeated in all ancient wisdom of Jesus, Buddha, The Tao, The Vedas, Kabbalah et cetera.  Because they all found oneness w the mystery of creation that we call god in stillness, within (not religion). Jesus did not say start a religion in my name, he said go within and be the light that you are. But regardless of our thinking or beliefs or actions, we cannot take the god out of anything as thats all there is. By defining we are playing god, not loving the creative source for this experience of life.

Man did not create man, so why does he play god. Stillness speaks much greater truths than words.     ~r

When I awoke I saw how incredible of a creation I was

Fell in love THAT me, as awakening is to see

I saw that I was not of me, but of the greatest mystery

Wrapped my arms around the mystery & can never let go

Because that is separation and I know that is impossible

I AM THAT I AM in form to experience and add Love

Grateful to be, as now I can Love me ~r

ancient wisdom

Wow, the more I dig into the ancient wisdom of The Vedas, The Tao, The Kabbalah, Buddhist teachings I teachings of Jesus et cetera. The more I hear the same, from the same consciousness. They all seem to overlap and be part of the same evolution. Current science also seems to be connecting all the ancient wisdom to modern mentality. ~rg

I AM that* I AM.

I AM that* I AM.

I AM that* I AM. As looking out from behind all eyes is the source (of everything). Separation is an illusion. The only time in any sacred texts of all cultures that god identified its self by a name was in the Torah. When Moses was at the burning bush, being sent to free the Jews and when Moses said “What should I tell them your name is”? God said “I AM THAT I AM”. Its God saying Namaste. A message to all that within we are all of the mystery of god in every cell of our being. So if thats true, that I AM is Gods name. Do we not use it constantly referring to self. I AM…….. Also, though many think that the Buddhas belief was departure from the Vedic belief of Atman. Doesn’t the I AM show there is no self (Buddha), if its really all god and all one (Atman). Separation is an illusion. ~r

Recovery from false self.

Recovery from false self underlies all recovery. Depression & anxiety mostly stem from holding on to old programming of beliefs, ideals & man made understandings.
These are the attachments that the Buddha was talking about when he said have Emptiness.
When we make such space we find the real us, with no definition, only of god.

“Serenity is directly proportional to my level of acceptance”

&
My freedom is proportional to my level of letting go.

Come to know what can only remain unknown.
&
Come to understand what only truly always understands.

The Tao – Chapter 37

The spiritual laws of nature are paradoxical and the path to freedom and authentic being.
The Tao, The Vedas, The Sutras, The Old Testament and the teachings of Jesus are all one, all from enlightened consciousness. Consciousness is a unified field of all life, oneness with all that is in the Universe. The Universe is all an activity of the same creation, we are really verbs not nouns. There is a

imprint of the Universe in the DNA of all life. The path to coming to know the unknown is within in stillness. ~rg

Chapter 37 of the Tao
The Tao never does anything,
yet through it all things are done.

If powerful men and women
could venter themselves in it,
the whole world would be transformed
by itself, in its natural rhythms.
People would be content
with their simple, everyday lives,
in harmony, and free of desire.

When there is no desire,
all things are at peace.

dj suggests reading the spiritual contemplations of Thomas Merton

Recently I posted a story about dj the 87 year old spiritual teacher. Below is dj’s favorite prayer written by Thomas Merton and a picture of dj.

MY LORD GOD, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road, though I may know nothing about it. Therefore I will trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.

I AM amazed by the mystery

May the first and most important Namaste be said to the one in the mirror, to see the Spirit in oneself. I AM that I AM. Than we can not help but to continue to heal and be of service to others. To show my self and all in my path great love and to have gratitude & joy in every step. Regardless of no understanding of what God is, I will be the light of happiness and return the love. I AM amazed by the mystery.

The Unknown Milk

The unknown

The unknown

Peace of mind, freedom and oneness with all comes from living in unknowing.
Unknowing is a obvious lesson from the mystery of creation.
Yet schools, religion, or others compulsively want us to believe their teaching of who or what we are or how to connect with God.

Can anyone truly know the big questions of life, where it came from and why?
Can anyone comprehend all the laws of nature, past and future?
Can anyone totally understand or control their own lives or others?
Can anyone explain what existed before this life or after this life?

No. Usually such motives are based on fear, self-centeredness or self serving.

But the unknown is limitless. Love and life was created by the unknown.
God is a mystery yet many have experienced something beyond self in their lives.
We have many blessings of life that show great love and care that came from the unknown, such as our lungs to breath, our eyes to see, our brains to think, our heart that beats. We do not have to try to breathe or try to pump the heart or do anything to these given gifts. We are created by and are apart of the great mystery that shows infinite love. It is beyond our comprehension and amazing without definition.

So why do so many say they know beyond what is perfectly unknown?

Its all one

RecoveryMeditation.org

Its all one. We are all an evolution from the horizon of the big bang to this very moment, life is an activity of the cosmos. There is no separation, our problems come from believing we are separate from God, the universe and others. All spiritual laws of nature are the same in every tradition, just said different. There are to many examples of this for me to name, but I have found this truth in all cultures and from many spiritual teachers from The Upanishads in the 5th century, to the hindu vedas and vedic knowledge, to the tao by lao tzu, the torah, the buddha, the cloud of unknowing 14th century, jesus, all the way up to modern day teachers like tolle. And many more. They all say the same things, just in different ways of the times, because they are not making it up, they are observing it, awakening and can see it and then interpreting it in ways that can be digested to others in their times. Being you are talking about Jesus and the Buddha, a good example of what they both said in different ways that had the same meaning was: Jesus: Be in the world but not of the world and Buddha: Have form but emptiness. Both meaning, you are here in form in the material world experience but we are really more of spirit and there for be empty of attachments as its not whats real, only temporary. Basically meaning, our problems come from our own thinking, expectations, beliefs that are all manifested by self. We have been programmed by centuries of what is not authentic to being, from family, school, tv, peer groups and society. WE KNOW NOT WHAT WE DO. This is well described in the Gospel of Thomas where the disciples came to Jesus and asked “Jesus tell us what our end will be” and Jesus said “You are asking the wrong question, you should be asking what the beginning should be, because you have been off track since the beginning. He said: If you come to know the beginning, you will automatically know the end and you will never taste death.” Stating even our view on death is man made and thats why we possibly view it as a problem or end. All the great teachers knew, be still and transcend thinking then the consciousness will flow in when we are relaxed and not blocking it. ~rg

The 2 Steps of Co-Creating

Blue Energy Field by Teresa Wicksteed

The 2 Steps of Co-Creating:

1. Become aware of when our own will is creating a problem or resistance and be quick to take it out of the equation.

2. Learn to surf.

Note: Going against the power of the ocean will not work very well no matter how hard we apply our will.
But, if you learn to ride the energy wave of the ocean with little self assertion, we can become one with the energy flow just as we can with Gods energy and it allows us to choose some direction. We can turn left, or right, do a jump, go in the tunnel, have an incredible experience of life, in the moment, full of joy and happiness.
So this is really about learning to surf in our daily lives, in an invisible ocean of energy that always surrounds us.

Codependency

PattyPowers SoberCoach in NYC Posted on FB:

Yesterday, a therapist said “You know the saying – if you scratch an addict, you’ll find co-dependence underneath.” I’m curious what your thoughts are on this.

Ricky Gelb’s reply:
Ive worked with Pia Melody & Melody Beatie who tend to be known as the authors & therapist trainers on this topic and have heard this from most book trained therapists. But I feel they offer little as a solution. If the concept of Lack of power (pg 45 in AA Big Book) is true, than simply having knowledge of such info of being codependent offers little to a solution. Because we do not have the power to change it out of self will. They suggest, building a relationship with the power is the solution. In addition, thinking is the greatest form of powerlessness as we have short term thinking and change our minds (AA BB pg 24) eludes to, we can not stay “changed” from memory regardless of how bad or recent an event is. With that being said, I have found that when you scratch the Co-dependence underneath we find a lack of self-love/worth. Without self love, we can not experience true intimacy with, God, others & self. We will need love like a child rather than sharing great mutual whole love. We will be trying to fill the lack of self worth with other-esteem. I was an extreme codependent, I basically suffered from identity theft from childhood, was programed to have a false constitution that dictated every part of me, and to kill such pain I turned to heroin addiction. Today due to an experiential of a form of meditation, I have a new concept of self. I love the creation that I AM. I see the Namaste within, The God within me, the amazing creation I had not brought into view before, I see how I AM a creation of the evolution from the horizon of the big bang to this moment, which is oneness. The attachments to outward, others, and drugs became not needed anymore, so they could not continue to attach to me. They were gone, I was awakened, recovered after decades of struggle & suffering. I did nothing but get really still and consciousness took over and I was free. Soon you will be able to share and take others through this method I call Meditaining as soon as I finnish www.meditaining.com I actually believe that all addictions including Co-dependence come from trying to relieve the discomfort of living not authentic to being. As God and the universe created me to be not the man made self. Now as Jesus said, I can be in the world but not of the world or as the Buddha said I can have form but emptiness to the attachments.

Gratitude pushes out negative thinking, especially resentments & fear. Say only prayers of gratitude through out the day. If we are grateful, we are connecting to God, a power greater then self.

Start to view life not as a given that we easily take things for granted but as a gift. Start to count the endless blessing we are given and be mindful of gratitude for them. Such as: eye sight, your lungs, waking up, your hands, for food, for a beautiful sunset, for the car starting, for sobriety, for your heart that is beating, for friendship and love, for clothes to wear, for a bed to sleep in, for family, for creativity and imagination, for a shower and water, for feelings, for every experience and blessing in the gift of life and say a prayer of gratitude. A simple prayer: Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Prayer of Gratitude by Duane Jackson:

All mighty God, Hear this my prayer. I come to you on bended knee to thank you for the gift of life…..and all daily blessings. Especially for my sobriety and return to sanity and reason. And from this time and place forward, I will carry your message of hope, recovery, love & gratitude to other spiritually sick and suffering people. May I do thy will always. So be it.

Meditation & Relaxation

AA and the 12 steps emphasize the importance of meditation but give no direction on how to do so.

AA BB says the problem is centered in our thinking; the root of the problem is self-centeredness (pg 62 AA BB). The dilemma of why we cannot change (page 45 1rst full paragraph) is A Lack OF Power. The Solution is connecting to Power. The steps are designed to strip away the stuff of self that blocks us from the Power.

This is a must, as we cannot stay sober by memory (pg 24 AA BB in italics). The greatest form of powerlessness is our own thinking. Because; we have short-term thinking and change our minds. What we feel very strong about today will be out of mind down the road. This is why despite our good intentions; we cannot stay sober on our will power alone. We must build a relationship with a power greater than our selves.  Meditation is a way of going beyond self and connecting with God.

Be still and know I AM God – The Bible

Beyond self-powered thinking is consciousness and awareness.  Step 11 is about improving our conscious contact with God. Meditation is how to do that.

This form of meditation can take you beyond self-powered busy brained thinking and you will experience the stillness within. It will relax you in profound ways so you can be in the moment, not the busy brain of the future and past. Fears are about the future, resentments are about the past. Meditation is not based on our power to work, it will relax us and let us experience being in the moment, in the now.  It allows intuitive thoughts, inspiration and direction from a higher power to flow in.

Silent Mantra Meditation

The root words of mantra are: Man – think, intent or mind.  Tra means – protection from or freedom of bondage from. So together the root of using a mantra means: protect from our thinking or freedom from our minds.

Meditation can relax us and take away all anxiety if practiced regularly.

It is my opinion the number one reason for relapse is anxiety and busy brained thinking. At some point we cant take it anymore and reach for relief in our drug or drink of choice.  Then the phenomenon of the obsession of mind and the physical craving begin all over again. If we are truly relaxed and have no anxiety by meditating, we never get to a point of needing relief, we are happy & peaceful.

  1. Sit comfortably in a chair with eyes closed for 30 seconds.
  2. Say Ahhm – I –  Ahhmm silently in your head for 20 minutes. Do not worry about thinking or controlling anything. Just keep returning back to the silent mantra. Its ok to think and you will. You will have thinking then mantra, thinking then mantra. You may not think it is working for about 10 minutes but just keep returning to gently saying the mantra silently in your head. At some point you will notice the relaxation coming into the body, your arms will feel heavy but your mind will still be aware. Usually at about 15 minutes in we will start to feel a great sense of stillness, this is the state of transcendence.
  3. After the 20 minutes of repeating the mantra silently in your head. Stop the mantra and just sit for 2 more minutes with your eyes still closed.
  4. Do this 2 times a day for the 22.5 minutes and you will begin to notice a transformation in your daily life in many ways. It becomes self-revealing.
  5. It is best to do it on a empty stomach before breakfast and dinner. Do it 8 hours apart. From each 20 minutes of meditation, the body will get 8 hours of what’s known as restful awareness.
